Summer Camp USA offers you the chance to gain and develop leadership skills by mentoring children aged six to 16 whilst experiencing the great American outdoors.  Most camps are based in beautiful lakeside settings.
 
Placements last for approximately nine weeks from early June to mid August.  Although most camps are extremely active places, you don’t have to be “sporty” to be involved.  BUNAC places you according to your specific skills and background.  There are many places available
for those with good arts & crafts, theatre, computer and science backgrounds.  What you do need however is some experience working with children and loads of energy!
 
After camp, take to the road with the friends you’ve made at camp and visit all those places you’ve always wanted to visit.  Not just in the USA but in Canada and Mexico as well.

During the training period you will learn Camp Leadership skills, basic TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) techniques and introductory level Mandarin to prepare you for your work placement.
 
The programme is based in Chinese Schools which run activity-based camps for children of all ages.  The children learn English through participation in group games, arts & crafts and singing.
