SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Sponsorship is available but it might take quite a lot of your time and effort to be successful. The earlier you start, the better! Think about the type of companies you want to apply to: Research local employers and companies; try speculative approaches to companies who do not necessarily advertise sponsorship / internship schemes. They employ the 'lie low' or 'wait and see' technique. They do not plan to sponsor students, but if a motivated and bright person contacts them, they may consider it. Companies will also want to know why they should sponsor you, remember as a YinI student you are career focused, eager to earn and learn whilst possessing real work experience, a certificate from the Chartered Management Institute, Loughborough Maths course, Engineering Employers Federation awards. Convince them that you possess the necessary abilities and skills that they require, sell yourself! Consult your prospective university course administrators can tell you of any employers or schemes they know of that are interested in sponsoring the course they represent.
Check the application procedure: Many companies have a standard application procedure and will often refuse to consider a CV and covering letter, so check the website!
