International Students

If you are an undergraduate studying at a UK university and your course has a sandwich year option you may be eligible to apply for The Year in Industry scheme.

If during your sandwich year you are classified as a student of your university, and continue to pay fees, you are entitled to work full time and can therefore take part in The Year In Industry scheme.

If you are not classified as a member of the university during your sandwich year, you will need a working visa to work more than 20 hours fully paid.

If you are planning to take up a placement as a gap year before going to university, you will need a valid work permit from the Home Office.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to help you obtain a valid work permit so we recommend you plan your work placement in advance to give you enough time to process your visa application.

We welcome applications from International Students and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Please visit www.homeoffice.gov.uk for more information on working in the UK.
